Just curious as to what your favorite songs from the movie are :] My personal favorite is currently Hikousen.. (Did I say Hikousen? I meant Houwa -_-)

But all of cds is beautiful. So, I'm ... I'm frustrated, i've listened Salyu by the past but in her another CD we have not this feeling, and in anything other artists songs ...

I know what you mean.. I'm constantly on the lookout for new music that is as affecting as LCC. I like Salyu's other stuff, but it doesn't compare to the music from the movie. Hopefully I can find more music like it :] |

Ha good, sometimes I think Pollen Piano by Metamatics have this things.
Or other band of IDM music maybe, Debussy of course and Mybe UA.
Do yo know artist sounds like LCC ?

I like Houwa a lot. Its because of the little piano piece in the beginning and the end of the song. It was played in the movie when Tsuda committed suicide and that song made it even sadder. I remember I almost cried at that part (but I pretty much wanted to cry during the whole movie). By the way my all time favorite song by Lily is Erotic |

Wings that Can't Fly. That song messed with me. When it went on, I thought the movie was over. I was like !@#$!!!!!! Major cliffhanger. But then it went on, and yeah. But then, the song was like, meant for Yu Aoi. Wanting to fly on a kite, away from everything, away from Hoshino. . . But in the end, she has wings that can't fly.
But you know, it's not the wings that make the angel.

I can't really give a fully informed answer to this question as I only have 5 songs from the movie with Lily's wonderous voice on. These are: Arabesque, Houwa, Ai no jikken, Kaifuku suru kizu, & Glide.
Of these however, I can say, after much thought, that my favourite at the moment is Houwa, I agree that the piano bits definitely have something to do with it, but to me its simply the song I feel the most Ether from.
Otherwise, I would have to say that Arabesque & Kaifuku suru kizu, are also right up there when it comes to being permeated with the Ether. In Arabesque its like I've just woken up from a dream, & my dreaming consciousness has transfered over into my waking state; I feel so calm & contemplative when this is on; its very powerful. ... Now when it comes to Kaifuku suru kizu, in this Lily doesn't even need the music as backing --its very minimal anyway-- the track is carried by the sweet sound of her melodic vocals alone; she needs no assisstance on this one, let me assure you of that; it's All About Lily Chou-Chou, & her connection to the Ether; this is Lily at her purest -- as far as being a personification of that all permeating Ether is concerned anyway.
[It seems that nothing is ever quite so straight forward; even answering a single question ;-) ... But when it really comes down to it: I suppose I love every one of Lily's songs from the movie; the purer her personification of the Ether is, the more I love it. But the Ether is definitely there in all of her song's, albeit with the degree of purity varied in each; or is it simply that each portrays a different aspect of the Ether... hmm... there could be more to the colour scheme that "Yuichi" mentions in the film... I don't know!]

Yay, I just managed to find three more of Lily's song's: Hikousen, Tobenai Tsubasa, & Kyomei (Kuukyo na Ishi); I found them through the 'iMusic' app on my G1 phone. The only song I'm missing now is Erotic, I think. Of these three my favourite is Tobenai Tsubasa; but to me Houwa is still my overall favourite Lily Chou-Chou song. ... Come on EROTIC, where are you? ...

I know what you mean when you say that: "it feels like your falling when you listen to Kyomei." I've been listening to it a bit more recently, & it is a good song; its like your "falling with wings" & that's how you can say: "its like your gonna colapse, but your alright." Have you seen the video for it? At one point in it Lily rests back against a gravestone which has some wings on it, & the wings look like they should be attached to Lily.

Hi ether,
you've got it exactly as I envisage it. ... Lily & her ether are the embodiment of the Universal Ether, & tuning in to it (by taking wing & flying with her) [or otherwise listening to her music] is one method of regaining mental calm, further helping to ease our pains. I'll be starting a topic about all of this some time soon, called 'Music Therapy', it will be found under Ai no Jikken, in the Ether; feel free to give it a look & participate if you have the desire.
