Hello!
I joined this group to meet and discuss other Lily Chou Chou fans, both the movie and her music. I first watched the film half a year ago and I've seen it 4 times and plan to continue doing so. I'm in love with both Salyu and Lily Chou Chou music.
I'm also a huge fan of Iwai Shunji, Swallowtail is also one of my favorite movies and I loved him in Shiki-jitsu (Ritual) by Anno Hideaki. I'm planning to watch his other films also, except in my honest opinion some of them kind of look doofy.
As for other films that I have enjoyed:
Sono Sion: Suicide Circle, Noriko's Dinner Table, Strange Circus, Love Exposure
I would say All About Lily Chou Chou and Suicide Circle would be my top movies.
Kitano Takeshi: Pretty much all, but specifically- Hana-bi, Kids Return, Dolls- I haven't seen all but I didn't like Brother way too much.
Miike Takashi: Koroshiya-Ichi, Izo, Audition, some others
Others: Shiki-Jitsu (Anno Hideaki), Battle Royale (Fukasaku Kinji), Pan's Labyrinth (Guillermo del Toro), Donnie Darko (Richard Kelly).
I can probably go on forever haha.
